The NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets is offering grants to schools so that they can serve food from local farms in their cafeteria meals. This is a competitive grant opportunity.
"The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets invites proposals that will increase the capacity of schools to procure and to serve locally produced specialty crops in school meals programs."
Grant period: 24 months
Application Due Date: 10/15/16
Funding availability: $500,000 total with approx. $25,000 to $100,000 available per grant
