The Afterschool Alliance and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation have partnered to bring their Dollar General Afterschool Literacy Award program.

The Afterschool Alliance and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation are once again looking for outstanding afterschool programs that have demonstrated excellence providing literacy support to help improve students’ reading, writing and critical thinking skills. This year, the award focuses on afterschool programs that have demonstrated excellence providing literacy support to English language learner students.

  Winners will receive $10,000 for their afterschool program. Eligible afterschool programs must have a strong literacy component and also provide programming to English language learners. On November 10th, they will be hosting a webinar providing helpful tips for filling out the nomination form and giving a review of previous award years.  Visit the Afterschool Alliance website to join the webinar at 1pm EST.
