Grant Opportunity: The New York State Education Department (the Department) will use state set-aside monies from its federal Title IIA funds to establish model P-20 partnerships for principal preparation. Partners will collaborate on the re-design of preparation programs so aspiring building leaders who emerge are better equipped to take on the challenges of leading high-need schools and to achieve improved outcomes for all students.
Eligibility: Each eligible partnership must include three organizations:
- an eligible public school district (these are listed in Table 1, which can be found on page 12);
- an institution of higher education (IHE) with a graduate program that has expertise in school leadership development; and
- another entity with leadership development expertise.
Grant Amount: $555,000-$1,850,000 per district
Important Dates:
- Funding Period: July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019 and July 1, 2019-Sept. 30, 2020.
- Due Date: May 25, 2018
